FCharts SE stock charting software

When I first looked into charting programs for my own use I made a list of those which might be suitable, then crossed off those with proprietary data formats (the short and curlies trap), those with frequent updates you had to pay for (the ransom trap) and anything which seemed overpriced or over complicated.
Unfortunately that left me with nothing to actually buy, so I turned to my programming skills (10 years writing multi-user accounting software) and wrote a stock charting program. It was fine for my needs, although rough around the edges. Then a friend saw it running on my laptop and asked where they could buy a copy. I was so surprised at their reaction I decided to tidy it up, give it a decent user interface and release it for free. I already had a website and domain for my novel (Spacejock) so it was only a couple of weeks before I uploaded the first public release:
"Anyone interested in share trading should check this out. By far the best I've seen on the net. I have checked many freeware programs of this type and this is the first I would seriously recommend." maxtc on cnet.com
So it was well received. But as requests for new features increased, I spent more and more time programming. In the end I decided to make a 'Pro' version available for a low price so those who wanted extra features could contribute to the ongoing development. And development hasn't stopped yet...
I know my site has an Australian focus (examples from the ASX, and so on) but that's inevitable, because Australia is where I live. However, I've also lived in the UK and Spain, and I've been lucky enough to travel to many countries around the world so don't think I'm in any way restricting my program to Australians! I've added code to help a Portuguese user, I've added a downloader and intraday connection to QuoteTracker for US users, I've added a special import routine for a couple of Swiss users and I will continue to offer support to anyone, from any country, in any way I can.
